Venerable Master Hsing Yun, Founder of Fo Guang Shan, said: “Reading can establish one’s image. Reading can change one’s temperament. Reading can better understand oneself. Reading can augment time and space.” With this concept in mind, Fo Guang Shan has set up libraries in the various branches around the world to promote the importance of reading to the general public and thus form a well-read community.
